Mini bio
In 2021, he achieved a major international breakthrough with “Ghazali,” a smashing hit that went completely viral thanks to the Moroccan national football team during the previous World Cup. “Tek Tek” and “Layali” followed and went viral internationally again on TikTok, Instagram, and Spotify. “SPIDER,” a collaboration with GIMS, also became a massive streaming hit. In 2025, his third album, “Bababa World,” stormed the streaming charts once again with J Balvin and French Montana as featured artists, and he toured the world. That Bababa World Tour resulted in sold-out venues for DYSTINCT in Africa, North America, and Europe. When it emerged at the end of 2025 that DYSTINCT was the very first artist of Arab descent to perform at the Lotto Arena—and that the venue sold out immediately—DYSTINCT finally became national news in Belgium as well. This earned him a MIA nomination last winter. He was blown away by his inclusion in late 2025 in the European Forbes '30 Under 30' list of young talents from various domains. The Raïpop with urban, R&B, and Latin vibes, sung in Moroccan Arabic, French, Spanish, English, and sometimes also in Dutch, is highly danceable and builds a particularly beautiful and contemporary bridge between the Maghreb and Western Europe and back. Last year, his sold-out show at the Lotto Arena already demonstrated that DYSTINCT is an international star in Belgium as well. On June 12, DYSTINCT will perform in New York on the eve of the Brazil vs. Morocco World Cup match in the US; Australia follows in early July, and on Friday, July 17, he will also get the Afro-Latino Festival dancing and partying with an exclusive Belgian show! Good vibes only!
