Mini bio
Legend was released in 1984, 3 years after Bob Marley’s tragic death. With over 25 million certified copies sold this best-of album became one of the absolute bestsellers of all-time. Up until today (!) the album still sits on many album charts, along its runs reaching no 1 in the UK and Top 5 in the US and top 15 in the Netherlands. As of 31 May 2023, Legend has spent a total of 784 (!) nonconsecutive weeks on the US Billboard 200 albums chart, the second longest run in history. A remarkable achievement for a reggae album. In 2024 Rootsriders, one of the most famous Bob Marley tribute bands in the world, will be paying tribute to Marley’s most famous and bestselling album, highlighting and celebrating the 40th anniversary of its release. Afro-Latino will be their only show in Belgium ! Rootsriders were once formed to commemorate Bob Marley's 25 years since his passing and the band has become a highly appreciated fixture on the Dutch live music scene ever since. Former runner-up of the Dutch version of The Voice Mitchell Brunings, whose blind audition of - of course - a song by Marley went viral worldwide, has been a member for years but ultimately left to pursue his own career. Current lead singer Mo Ali was found through social media all the way in Sudan. At the beginning of 2022, the band reached the finals of a new TV contest by the creators of The Voice
