Marie Daulne and her excellent band gave one of the best concerts of recent years at Afro-Latino in 2024, so it was a no-brainer to ask them back, especially since K.ZIA, Marie Daulne's talented daughter, is joining Zap Mama this year.
Zap Mama has been a global star for over 30 years, and this is evident in the festivals and venues where they have performed: Coachella, Roskilde, Montreux Jazz Festival, Cargeneie Hall in New York, Kennedy Center in Washington, Sydney Opera House in Australia… A collection of festivals and concert venues that no other Belgian artist or band can match. And which Belgian artist can say they have developed their own music genre? Well, Zap Mama can; with their pan-African fusion, they inspire countless artists both in Africa and artists from the African diaspora in the West. From a cappella, pop, R&B, hip hop, funk, soul & dance. K.ZIA, the multidisciplinary voice of a hyper-connected generation, is much more than just the daughter of… With over 9 million streams and mentions in Vogue and Rolling Stone, she has grown into a pivotal figure in global pan-African culture, partly due to her work for streaming platforms such as Disney and HBO. With 'Heritage é Motion', Zap Mama & K.ZIA bring a special project to the Afro-Latino Festival, a musical crossroads between two generations, two visions, and an unbreakable family bond. If you want to experience something unique, don’t miss out!
